First Basketball Game update:

we lost
But that's totally okay!
Basketball is about having Fun, being with Friends, and having a good time!
We played a bunch of mia maids and laurels that were really tall! And may I mention Really good not that our team isn't good, it's just that this team seemed like they have been playing basketball for Years.
Wish us luck at our next game! I'm excited!

Ballin' it up in YW!!!

I'm going to teach you step by step to have a YW basketball team.

PLAYERS:
First of all, you need players to actually play in the game! Players include some of the Young Women and visitors.

COACH:
Next, you need a coach that will be able to teach you the basics in basketball. Our coach is my dad.

JERSEY:
You need a cool, modest, and comfortable jersey. Our jersey made from my dad is tealish blue with a logo that says, "Stormin' Mormons Ladera Ranch 2," with lightening bolts in the above picture.

CHEERLEADERS:
To cheer you on, you must have cheerleaders....a priority in YW basketball. Our cheerleaders vary from moms and dads, to leaders and teammates.

FUN:
Lastly, but most definitely not the least, you need to have fun! Relax! It's just and extracurricular activity with your friends!

This is kinda a random post....

Which is which? Word Bank: Cassie, Rachel

Believe it or not, This is a puddle.

Explanation: The first few pictures are of me jumping and different shadows on Cassie's driveway and a park bench. Then I threw in a couple of pictures of the Dunning's because Rowan and Sarah posed for me when I babysat them. Too cute. And the last picture is one I found on the internet of Converse with laces in the shape of a heart. Leave a comment if you want me to send it to you or if you want to guess on the yogurt thingy.

Inauguration Poem/Green Eggs and Ham

This poem you are about to read reminds me of the story, "Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr. Suess. Both are silly, and at times, don't make sense at all.
Officially our President

At the Inauguration this morning, (BTW I had to watch it in school) this lady had this really interesting poem that she cited.....made no sense whatsoever. So I'm posting because at least she gave it a try.

"Praise song for the day.

Each day we go about our businesses, walking past each other, catching each others' eyes or not, about to speak or speaking. All about us is noise. All about us is noise and bramble, thorn and din, each one of our ancestors on our tongues. Someone is stitching up a hem, darning a hole in a uniform, patching a tire, repairing the things in need of repair.

Someone is trying to make music somewhere with a pair of wooden spoons on an oil drum with cello, boom box, harmonica, voice.

A woman and her son wait for the bus.

A farmer considers the changing sky; a teacher says, '"Take out your pencils. Begin.'"

We encounter each other in words, words spiny or smooth, whispered or declaimed; words to consider, reconsider.

We cross dirt roads and highways that mark the will of someone and then others who said, '"I need to see what's on the other side I know there's something better down the road.'"

We need to find a place where we are safe; we walk into that which we cannot see.

Say it plain, that many have died for this day, Sing the names of the dead who brought us here, who laid the train tracks, raised the bridges, picked the cotton and lettuce, built brick by brick the glittering edifices they would then keep clean and work inside of.

Praise song for struggle; praise song for the day. Praise song for every hand-lettered sign; the figuring it out at kitchen tables.

Some live by '"Love thy neighbor as thyself.'"

Others by first do no harm, or take no more than you need.

What if the mightiest word is love, love beyond marital, filial, national. Love that casts a widening pool of light. Love with no need to preempt grievance.

In today's sharp sparkle, this winter air, anything can be made, any sentence begun.

On the brink, on the brim, on the cusp--praise song for walking forward in that light."

So what did you think of that. Leave a comment and tell me your favorite part!!
